FeedbackDear Cathy and all, I am writing this email to show my gratitude to you all for the 3 year support received from the beginning of my Adult Nursing course. With your support you have enabled me to have a portable laptop to complete my assignments, coursework and examinations. With you support I have not had to worry about travel expenses to and from University based in Eltham and travel expenses to placement based in Woolwich. I cannot even explain how much relief you have provided to me in regards to worry and stress. With this being said I have been able to graduate at the University of Greenwich with a First Class Honours Bsc Degree in Adult Nursing. I owe it all to you and I will never forget St Olave’s Foundation for the rest of my life. Thank you for enabling my dreams to come true. I love you all and God bless. Best Wishes, Carlisle-Lorraine Dear Trustees, I am a freelance professional dancer who specialises in contemporary dance. I graduated from one of the leading vocational dance schools, London Studio Centre, in 2015. Here I gained a 2:1 in a Ba (Hons) in Theatre Dance. Since graduating, I have performed in many creative projects including Tate Modern, Victoria & Albert museum, Royal Academy of Art and Somerset House. I have also taught dance and movement based classes at Turf Projects and Coin Street Neighbourhood Centre. I also do more commercial work in music videos and photoshoots. Being supported by the St. Olave’s foundation during my time at university was beyond helpful! I was able to have access to essential camera equipment for my dissertation film, which I otherwise would not have been able to financially source independently. This enabled me to gain a 1st in my dissertation which I will be eternally grateful for. I still continue to use the equipment for creative projects which have led to amazing opportunities. I also share it with creative collaborators who are in the same field as me, as I understand the importance of supporting each other and growing together within our communities. Thanks, Rosalie Dear Trustees, Words cannot do any justice to show how grateful I am for heroes like yourself. I wish I could thank you and see you in person, your help has relieved me and my family through so much pain and hardship and has allowed us to not worry over certain expenses in which was causing me and my parents serious stress and grief due to our financial circumstances. You have allowed me to pursue my education and career goals in providing me with valuable resources. Indeed, you have shown your sincere kindness and generosity in supporting me in my education and well-being. My family feels more secure knowing that my education is now steadier and on behalf of myself and my family, I would like to once again use this opportunity to pour out my love, appreciation and humble thanks to you all. Many young children especially from my area are underprivileged, it is so heart-warming to see how you have shown your concern by stretching your hand towards my education, so many great things can be said about you, more than you can ever know. Thank you for everything. Many thanks, Ahmed Dear Trustees, I am currently in my third year studying BioMedical Science on Placement in a Pharmaceutical company. My role in my placement is a Technical Operations Associate in RenaClinical, where I develop process and get involved in the manufacture of investigational medicinal product which will be used in clinical trials. These medications are in the developmental process and if they pass the clinical trials they can help millions of people. The grant I was awarded was a great help. The laptop, which I still have and use, allowed me to finish my course work on time and have the flexibility in managing my assignments, it was a crucial component which allowed me to complete online research and learn more. The other financial help St Olave’s Foundation Fund provided me, allowed me to have time to focus on my studies, instead of trying to find work and work to pay my rent. Leading me to gain distinctions on my course and be able to continue my education at university. Yousef Dear Trustees, Thank you so much for offering me a Laptop and some grants to help with my studies, travel and books at these difficult times. I really needed a laptop for my studies since the institutes are closed and studies has switched to online. I intend to put all my effort into my studies and make a good use of this laptop that the foundation has provided me with. With the help of this I would be able to complete my course work on time. Thank you so much. Respectfully, Naveed Dear Trustees, I would like to thank this foundation for their support over the last two years whilst I have been studying in Loughborough University. I do not think I would be still in University if not for this foundation. Thank you for allowing me to be able to focus on University rather than financial burdens. For the first time in my life I have been able to be a bit more care free and enjoy life a bit more whilst focusing on my studies. I am looking forward to graduating, making a good income and giving back to this foundation. Kind regards, Uzoamaka Dear Trustees, I would like to say an enormous thank you for all your help and support. I am deeply thankful for this Foundation because you all have believed in me during my studies; you all are part of the reason why I feel that my future can be bright and your help has allowed me to achieve great things. I feel like I have grown as a university student, and as a man, with all the support from people like yourselves; without your help, my time at university would have been much harder to cope with. Someday I hope to inspire and help other people grow just like this Foundation does. I can't say thank you enough, but I really do appreciate the help this Foundation has given me from the beginning of my undergraduate studies to the end. Thank you all very much, you have made my university journey not only better but worthwhile. I hope the future is bright for each and every one of you. Best wishes, Vernon Dear Trustees, I would like to personally thank your contribution. Without this, I would have had to save the money for a few months and not be able to start experimenting at home which is what my project is about. With the training given to me, I’ve been practising with some spare fabric which has helped me at university and the project. I am very excited to finally start making clothes and not worry about them tearing up or any thread getting loose. Once again, thank you for your contribution and promise you that I will work very hard during my time at university and afterwards. Sincerely, Mariam Dear Trustees, I would like to say thank you very much for the laptop, although I have only now had time to show my gratitude due to a busy student life. I am so pleased with my laptop and it has motivated me to really dive into my studies when it comes to gathering relevant research for my dissertation. This fund has made me feel like members of my community, Southwark, believe in my goals and support me which is often hard to come across. Again, I am truly grateful to have been a recipient. many thanks from Yasmin Dear Trustees, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read through my application and deem me worthy of a grant from the St Olave’s Foundation Fund. I am sure there were many other candidates in the running for the grant, and I am thrilled that I was one of the applicants chosen. I am very happy with the laptop and very pleased with the monetary contribution. As explained in my application this award will go a long way to helping me through my first year of medical school, and in regard to the laptop- the duration of my course and beyond. The first couple of weeks of the course were a bit overwhelming and so the timing of the award has been absolutely perfect. Again, I would like to reiterate my appreciation and gratitude. I would like to thank Cathy and the St Olave’s Foundation Fund Committee for the award and promise to make the most out of it. Sincerely, Samuel Dear Trustees, I just wanted to take the time and extend my gratitude to you and those on the committee! This grant will go a hell of a long way in securing my future and I will like to thank you guys for choosing me as one of those deserving of the grant. I know there are many applicants and I was fortunate enough to be selected by you, and am enterally grateful for that. Thank you for allowing me to chase my dream and I hope to one day repay you guys with concert tickets ?? !! This is truly a blessing in my life, in a time where I was struggling with the rigours of being an artist you have removed a massive weight off my shoulders. You guys are amazing! Never stop helping people like me, we appreciate you and will never forget you. ?? Kind regards, John Dear Trustees, Just wanted to let you know that I’ve finished university with an Upper Second Class Honours in Accounting and Finance! ?Once again I would like to thank you and the trustees for the ongoing support throughout my studies. Your help has been invaluable to me and I don’t know how I would have managed without it, I truly appreciate the kindness. ? Kind Regards,? Henry Dear Trustees, I would also like to extend my sincerest gratitude towards the Trustee's who have awarded me this grant. I am very appreciative of this decision, and I would like to thank you all for allowing me to complete my university studies in a more comfortable and easing manner. I hope this assistance will successfully allow me to continue my pursuit of attaining a First Class Degree within my studies and I could not be more thankful enough for your organisation to take the time out and consider my application. I am much appreciative of this and I will not forget the Trustee's kind and gracious actions. To all staff and team at The St Olaves Foundation, I am sincerely grateful and want to thank you for the assistance you have given me this academic year. Warm Regards, Ediri Dear Trustees, I wanted to write to you to sincerely thank you for accepting my request for a grant. I am so grateful for the generosity of this trust and I am delighted that you are able to help me through such a time which otherwise could be very stressful. I now will not have to worry about not being able to afford the necessary equipment and textbooks for my Midwifery degree. As well as having to travel in and out of central London from university, home and to my allocated placement, (which of course can be very expensive). One of my biggest worries about pursuing my dream of becoming a midwife was the cuts to bursaries in recent years as i knew that having 37.5 hour a week placement would make it near impossible for me to make any kind of income whilst juggling any assignments given. I have been very worried about the financial side of becoming a university student as I knew that i would have to stretch my maintenance loan to buy a much needed laptop and printer as well as managing a tight weekly budget. I also will have to assist my mum with the rent and buying groceries etc as i am turning 19 and she can no longer get help from the government. Due to your help we now feel a massive weight have been lifted and we could not be more thankful to your trust. It is amazing you can help young people and families like mine and it will have a great impact making the situation far easier for us. Yours sincerely, Kaya Dear Trustees, Thank you so much for the bursary, I really appreciate the fact that you took the time out to read and also positively respond to my application. The bursary means so much to me as it has given me the confidence to achieve all my goals in third year and especially pay for degree show next summer. The support from the foundation fund will also give me the chance to become a better creative and architecture student at Ravensbourne University, with the fund I will be able to buy materials to create prototypes, site and physical final models for the various projects in the next academic year as well print my design proposals for crits/presentation without worrying about money! Thank you! Kind regards, Sarah |
